Method for improving mechanical strength of tantalum wire

Tantalum wire is a necessary part for connecting with the tantalum electrolytic capacitor and welding the tantalum electrolytic capacitor to the printed board. With the development of science and technology, the development direction of electronic machines is: miniaturization, digitalization, high-frequency, and high reliability. Therefore, the specific volume of tantalum powder required for tantalum electrolytic capacitors is getting higher and higher, and the particles are getting smaller and smaller.

Because the specific volume is higher and higher, the degree of oxidation of tantalum powder adsorbs oxygen in the air becomes larger. Therefore, the surface of tantalum powder particles will form an oxide film. During sintering, the flow of molten layer on the surface of adjacent tantalum powder particles is blocked, so that the mutual crystallization ability decreases. The mechanical strength of the tantalum wire also decreases. In this way, the tantalum wire is slightly forced to break or fall off from the tantalum capacitor.

What if we solve this problem? Metals that have a low melting point and which themselves or their oxides readily react with water or acid can be used as deoxidizers. The curing agent is sintered together with the pressed tantalum wire under vacuum. So the oxidized part of the tantalum wire will deoxidize. After the completion of deoxidation, the tantalum wire continues to heat up under vacuum. The tantalum wire continues to be sintered and crystallizes the tantalum powder. The mechanical strength of the tantalum wire will be increased.

Fortu Tech can produce tantalum wire, tantalum tube, tantalum sheet, tantalum target, tantalum foil, tantalum particles, etc.
