Nb C-129Y alloys is a kind of niobium-tungsten-hafnium refractory alloy. Nb-10W-10Hf-0.1Y is its main chemical composition. The density is 9.5g/cm3.
It not only has high temperature performance but also heat resistance and oxidation resistance as well. It is commonly used in manufacturing missiles and spacecraft.
Nb-10W-10Hf-0.1Y alloys is sensitive to hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and other interstitial elements. And, its DBTT is relatively high.
In the welding condition, the DBTT is generally above room temperature. During the state of producing and using, the content of oxygen and nitrogen must be controlled below 80x10-6.
