Uses of titanium Grade 9

Titanium 3Al-2.5V alloys is a near-alpha titanium alloy with a nominal composition of Ti-3Al-2.5V, which is developed for cold-workable pipe applications. At room temperature and high temperature, its strength is 20%-50% higher than pure titanium, and its welding performance and cold forming performance are better than TC4 alloy. TA18 alloy is generally used in the annealed state, can also be used in the cold work and stress relief annealing state, the maximum operating temperature of about 315°C.
Titanium 3Al-2.5V per AMS 4943 is suitable for aircraft and engine hydraulic and fuel piping systems. Titanium 3Al-2.5V Gr.9 can also be rolled into Titanium 3Al-2.5V foil and Titanium 3Al-2.5V strip, the former is mostly used in aircraft honeycomb construction.

1) Annealing
Annealing of Ti-3Al-2.5V Grade 9 Sheet and Titanium 3Al-2.5V Gr.9 sheet is carried out in vacuum tubing. The absolute pressure in the furnace should not be higher than 0.09Pa, and the heating temperature should be within the range of 650-790℃. The temperature fluctuation range of furnace is ±15℃. Keep warm for 30-120min, the furnace is cold.

2) Stress relief annealing
According to the provisions of GJB 3763-1999 "Titanium and titanium alloy heat treatment Code". 370-600℃, 15-240min, air-cooled or furnace cooled.

Ti Grade9 Smelting and casting process
The alloy should be melted by more than two vacuum consumable electrode arc furnaces.

Titanium Grade9 Application Overview and special requirements
Titanium 3Al-2.5V per AMS 4943 alloy pipes have been used in high-tech military, aerospace and civil flight as hydraulic, fuel and other piping systems, in transport aircraft as air conditioning pipes have also been used, and will be used in aero-engine piping systems. The alloy is suitable for manufacturing parts that require strength, oxidation resistance and weldability at operating temperatures below 315 °C.
