The NbTi superconducting rod exhibits superconductivity at low temperatures. The resistance of Nb53%-Ti47% alloys bar becomes zero when the rod exceeds its critical temperature. The Nb-47Ti bar is the ideal material for making superconducting cables.

In a fusion environment, there may be magnetic field perturbations generated by the reaction.

Niobium53Titanium47 Alloys rod can be processed into Niobium53Titanium47 Alloys wire. The NbTi wire can be braided, wound or stacked into superconducting cables. These cables deliver current with reduced resistance losses, so they can transmit power more efficiently over long distances. Fusion reactors typically use superconducting coils to generate and maintain strong magnetic fields. NbTi alloys superconducting rod made of Columbium NbTi alloys can become these superconducting coils.
