Nitinol Target is mainly used for sputtering coating or physical vapor deposition (PVD). Nitinol Target ASTM F2063 for PVD is used to prepare shape memory alloy films or functional coatings. The chemical composition of Ni55%/Ti45% Target is similar to that of Ni55%/Ti45% Ingot, but it has particularities in physical properties, microstructure and purity requirements. Grain size of Nitinol Target Shape Memory Alloy: Usually < 50 μm (fine and uniform) to reduce particle sputtering and film layer defects during sputtering.
Nitinol Target purity≥99.95% (achieved through hot isostatic pressing (HIP) or hot pressing sintering), avoiding pores that cause uneven sputtering. Hardness of Nitinol Target: 300-400 HV (higher than that of ordinary Nitinol rods or Nitinol plates due to high densification and fine grain strengthening). Nitinol Target flexural strength: ≥500 MPa (To ensure that the target material is not prone to breakage during installation and sputtering).

Nitinol sputtering targets are specialized materials used in thin-film deposition processes, such as physical vapor deposition (PVD) or magnetron sputtering. Their unique shape memory effect (SME) and biocompatibility enable advanced coatings and functional films for diverse industries. Below are key applications categorized by field: Nitinol films doped with silver or copper ions create antibacterial coatings for surgical tools or hospital surfaces. Porous Nitinol coatings on medical devices enable controlled drug release for localized therapy. Sputtered Nitinol films serve as strain-sensitive conductive layers in wearable sensors or foldable displays. Nitinol films from Nitinol sputtering targets on satellite mirrors or lenses adjust curvature via temperature changes to correct optical distortions. Nitinol sputtering targets produce Thin-film composites for spacecraft shielding, leveraging Nitinol’s durability and thermal stability. Protective coatings made by Nitinol sputtering targets on aircraft components (e.g., turbine blades) to withstand high-temperature, corrosive environments.
In addition to Nitinol Target, we also produce Nitinol Tube & Pipe, Nitinol Sheet & Plate, Nitinol Ingot, Nitinol Pellets, Nitinol Foil & Strip, Nitinol Rod, Nitinol Rod & Bar, Nitinol Wire, Nitinol Disc, Nitinol Shield, Nitinol machined parts, Nitinol Additive.
