What is Nitinol Tube & Pipe?

Nitinol Tube is a tubular material made of nickel-titanium shape memory alloy (NiTi). The Nitinol Tube combines shape memory effect and superelasticity. The Nitinol Pipe contains nickel (50-55 at.%), titanium (45-50 at.%), and may contain a small amount of cobalt, copper, etc. to adjust the performance.

Ni55%/Ti45% alloys tube and Nitinol superelastic tube do not collapse easily when bent and are superior to conventional metal tubes.
Nitinol tube meets ASTM F2063, F2633 standard and can be laser-cut and chemically etched into complex structures.

The application of Nitinol Tube & Pipe

In the medical field, Nitinol capillary tube is used to create vascular stents that expand upon exposure to body temperature to support narrowed or blocked blood vessels and restore blood flow. Superelastic Nitinol capillary tube is also employed in catheters and guidewires for minimally invasive surgeries, allowing navigation through complex vascular pathways with reduced tissue damage.Additionally, Nitinol capillary tube is utilized in endoscopic instruments as steerable catheters or biopsy tools to enhance flexibility and precision. Neurovascular intervention devices leverage its shape memory to accurately deploy embolic materials for aneurysm treatment, while expandable intramedullary nails are used as orthopedic implants to fixate fractured bones by expanding post-insertion.
