The main component of tantalum foil is tantalum, and the purity of tantalum foil is usually higher than 99.95%.
The density of tantalum strip is about 16.6 g/cm3. Tantalum strip has a melting point of up to 2996°C.
Ta foil has good strength and ductility.
In terms of chemical properties, tantalum foil has excellent corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis and chlorides. However, the stability of tantalum strip in hydrofluoric acid is fragile. Ta strip can form a dense oxide film in the air, which enhances the corrosion resistance and stability of tantalum foil. These characteristics make tantalum foil perform well in high temperature and corrosive environments.
