Tantalum alloys Ta10W originating from the same tantalum tungsten alloys ingot or single powder batch, having identical dimensions, and undergoing final annealing in the same furnace load. Sampling and testing generally are performed on the full-length tubes as initially produced, unless otherwise specified. Seamless tubes shall be manufactured using any seamless process capable of producing material that complies with ASTM standard or Clients' requirements.

What is Ta-10W Tube & Pipe?

Tantalum 10% tungsten tube (often written as Ta - 10W tube) is a tubular product made of an alloy material based on tantalum, with approximately 10% tungsten added. It combines the excellent corrosion resistance of tantalum and the high strength, high melting point properties of tungsten. Ta10%W alloys Tubes are widely used in high-temperature, highly corrosive or extreme industrial environments.

Material properties
1. High melting point: The melting point of tantalum is approximately 2996℃, and that of tungsten is 3422℃. After alloying, the high-temperature stability is further enhanced, making it suitable for use in extreme environments above 1500℃.
2. Corrosion resistance: Tantalum inherently possesses extremely strong resistance to acids (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid) and liquid metal corrosion. The addition of tungsten enhances its performance in reducing media.
3. Mechanical strength: The addition of tungsten significantly enhances the hardness and creep resistance of pure tantalum, making it more resistant to high pressure and mechanical stress.
4. Processability: The tantalum tungsten alloy still retains a certain degree of ductility. Ta10%W alloy Pipe can be formed into tubes through cold processing (such as rolling and drawing), but Tantalum-10%Tungsten tube is harder than pure tantalum and requires special tools for processing.

Compared with other materials
Compared with pure tantalum tubes: Ta-10W tube R05255 has higher strength, but is slightly more expensive. Pure tantalum tube is more suitable for scenarios that require ultimate corrosion resistance but with lower load.

Compared with molybdenum tube/niobium alloy tubes: Ta-W alloy has better corrosion resistance, but molybdenum tubes are more cost-effective in non-oxidizing high-temperature environments.

Compared with Hastelloy tube: Hastelloy (such as C-276) may be more economical in some chemical environments, but tantalum tungsten alloys tubes performs better in ultra-high temperatures or strong acids.
